Most Repurchased Skincare 2018

Here they are, the team, my most repurchased skincare products of the year, a squad of skincare soldiers. I’d like to personally thank each and every one of them for their services to Project Boat Race this year. You guys are the best.

1. DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, from £4.50.

Hands down favourite cleanser. Cuts through makeup and sunscreen, leaving skin clean, soft and hydrated.

2. Nivea Double Effect Eye Makeup Remover, £3.89.

While the DHC can do a decent job of eye makeup removal, a dedicated eye makeup remover helps to get things started and reduce unnecessary rubbing and tugging. This little blue bottle from Nivea is my eye makeup remover of choice. Really effective and really inexpensive, double bubble.

3. Pixi Glow Tonic, from £5.

This cult liquid exfoliator from Pixi is gentle enough for everyday use yet strong enough to see results. Use it after makeup removal, pre…

4. The Ordinary 100% Cold Pressed Virgin Marula Oil, £8.10.

Facial oil is the easiest, most effective night treatment, particular for dull winter skin. Apply it at night and you will look better in the morning. This one from The Ordinary is fantastic. Though don’t feel you need to limit it to the face – cuticles, hands and shins all get a once over with it on occasion. You can even use it on your hair.

5. St. Tropez 1 Hour Express Tanning Mousse, £33.

Is that NYE up ahead? And what is that, over there in the distance, is it, could it be, summertime? Whatever the event on the horizon I will be bronzed for it, and the bronze will come from this bottle. Not in an obvious way, just as a little enhancement, either easing the deathly winter pallor or dialling the summer tan up a notch. You can do that with this product: leave it on for between 1 hour (begone mottled winter legs) and 3 hours (hello Gisele). Customisable bronzing. Plus it’s the only self-tan that doesn’t streak on me.

Til next time,
