Empties: Would I Repurchase?

Got some empties to review for you. It’s all skincare. That and dry shampoo. Can you tell I haven’t left my house very much?

ALPHA-H

Alpha-H is one of my favourite skincare brands. The Balancing Cleanser is a lovely, creamy facial cleanser, perfect for morning or evening if used in conjunction with an eye makeup remover. The Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF 50+ is a sort of moisturiser-sunscreen hybrid that layers well with other skincare and sits nicely under makeup. Would repurchase both.

Alpha-H Balancing Cleanser, £25 for 185ml, Look Fantastic.

Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF 50+, £29 for 50ml at Look Fantastic.

DR. JART CERAMIDIN

These Dr. Jart Ceramidin products are awesome. Loved them. Really hydrating but without any stickiness, the texture of the cream in particular is quite unique, thick but matte. Suitable for all skin types. Particularly good for dry types who don’t enjoy the feel of heavy moisturisers. This little kit contains the Liquid, Serum and Cream, a great way to try out the Korean brand before committing to the full sizes.

Dr. Jart Ceramidin Travel Kit, £12, Beauty Bay.

BEAUTY PIE

You’ve seen the Beauty Pie Super Retinol before and you will see it again. Well actually you won’t see the original, the Beauty Pie Super Retinol Face Serum because I have progressed to the new one, the Beauty Pie Super Retinol High-Dose Booster Treatment. Don’t let the name scare you, the high dose version is still very gentle on the skin, all of the smoothing without any irritation.

The Beauty Pie Triple Hyaluronic Acid Serum is a miss for me. I don’t love hyaluronic acid serums in general and this one is no exception, a little sticky and not much to report in the way of results.

Beauty Pie Super Retinol High Dose Booster Treatment, £16.56 for members (£90 for non-members) at Beauty Pie.

FACIAL OILS

Have used up two facial oils, my old fave from The Ordinary and a new one that might just take its place. The Ordinary 100% Cold Pressed Virgin Marula Oil has been a favourite for years. It’s very rich, the perfect remedy when skin feels dry or tight. But the new one, the Lumene Nordic-C Artic Berry Oil Cocktail, is a more sophisticated product, one I loved so much it has its own dedicated review (read it here).

The Ordinary 100% Cold Pressed Virgin Marula Oil, £8 for 30ml at Beauty Bay.

Lumene Nordic-C Arctic Berry Oil Cocktail, £29.90 for 30ml at Feel Unique.

DRY SHAMPOO

Do we really need to talk about Batiste Dry Shampoo? It’s my fave, the one I always come back to. Sure it has that strange white residue, but if you are a blonde with dark roots caught in a pandemic that white residue is rather helpful in lightening things up a touch. Seeing my hairdresser on Wednesday for the first time in six months and could not be happier about it.

Til next time,

Hayley
