What I’m Loving This Week: 14.06.20

Look at me, one child back at school and three blogposts in one week. Such productivity. It’s almost like looking after children is time consuming. Working parents, my admiration for you runneth over.

WATCHING

Race Across The World, BBC iPlayer.

Five pairs of contestants embark on a 12,000 mile race from London to Singapore via a route of their choosing – but flights are not allowed. They do have to reach a series of checkpoints en route, a journey that takes them through multiple countries. They don’t have phones or credit cards, they do have a budget of £1,329, the price of a single flight to Singapore. The fastest pair win £20k. A great watch but not one that helps quell the wanderlust.

LISTENING

Grounded with Louis Theroux, BBC Radio 4.

It will come as no surprise to hear that Louis Theroux is good at interviewing people and his trademark style works fantastically well in podcast format. An interesting mix of characters, plus Louis shares more of himself than usual.

BUYING

Ever so chuffed with the bargain that is my new backpack. More summery than my black one, big enough to fit all my stuff, not so big as to be cumbersome. The grey is much nicer than it looks in the official photos, which I knew as I had seen it instore many months ago. The large version of it is even nicer, alas not in the sale but does fit a laptop should you ever return to the office.

Kin Sia Small Backpack, £15 (was £50), John Lewis.

Kin Sia Foldover Backpack, £65, John Lewis.

Til next time,

Hayley
