Have always been a bit scared to try the original Liquid Gold. The hero product of skincare brand Alpha-H, Liquid Gold is an overnight glycolic acid treatment. You put the lotion onto a cotton pad and swipe it over the face and décolletage after cleansing. Then leave it. No serum, no moisturiser. Just head on off to bed. With acid on your face.
Which makes me feel a bit nervy. I mean I use acids. My BareMinerals cleanser has salicylic acid it in (good for spots). And I love the Nip+Fab Extreme Glycolic Fix Night Pads, £14.95. Which are essentially the same thing I guess. Just a less concentrated version. What these acids do is exfoliate your face by dissolving dead skin cells. For clearer, smoother, brighter skin.
Enter Alpha-H Liquid Gold Rose, £37 for 100ml. A milder, rose infused version of the original. Same resurfacing and smoothing properties, with an added boost of hydration.
And I love it. Really love it. I use it every other night and my skin looks bright and smooth on the mornings that follow. It’s so easy, cleanse and swipe. Quicker than applying moisturiser. And it smells like Turkish delight. Well, a sort of medicinal Turkish delight. Still, lush.
If you have an expensive serum or moisturiser habit it even saves you money. Because you’ll only use that serum every other night when using Liquid Gold, not every. So it lasts much longer, you’ll replace it less often. Plus a bottle of Liquid Gold will last you months. Some legit beauty maths right there.
Til next time,
