The Ordinary Vitamin C Review

The Ordinary Vitamin C

Texture is the issue. This Vitamin C serum from affordable skincare brand The Ordinary is a bit gritty. You know when you’re on the beach and sand gets mixed with your suncream? It feels like that. On your face. It also stings. That’s the bad news. The good news is it costs less than a fiver. And it works.

The Ordinary Vitamin C Serum

Vitamin C gives glow. Bright, smooth, glowy skin top of your wish list? Try adding Vitamin C to your skincare routine. Though not all products are created equal.

The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%

Formulating effective Vitamin C serums is challenging. It’s a tricky ingredient, doesn’t like being exposed to light, air or water. So The Ordinary have suspended a powder form of Vitamin C in a water-free, silicone-free formula. This keeps it stable. But also makes it gritty. Pretty greasy too.

Effective and affordable, yes. A pleasure to use, not so much.

It does say on the label HA Spheres 2% which makes it gritty. This is an evening routine product, that will tingle more on sensitive or irritated skin but not on normal skin. It can be diluted with other products for effectiveness. The tingling just means it’s working.
    Really good results.
