Pale Girl Bronzer: Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer Review

If the Bourjois Mat Illusion Bronzing Powder is not easily available where you live, this is another excellent bronzer option for fair skin.

Bronzer for fair skin review

In fact, I may love this one a teensy bit more than the Bourjois even. It’s the colour you see. The Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Light Bronze, $14.95, is less warm than the Mat Illusion but not really cool toned either. It’s a gorgeous golden shade. Which looks incredibly natural on my naturally pale girl face.

That said, when I have a bit of a tan it still works beautifully. The formula is very fine, so you can build the colour gradually. And the powder is perfectly pressed – not stiff like the Bourjois option or a baked bronzer, yet no powder kick up when you swirl your brush in.

Like the Bourjois Mat Illusion, the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer isn’t shimmery but does give a lovely sheen. Super easy to blend. Good wear time too.

The only drawback is the smell. Oh it smells bad. The reviews say it smells great, tropical. But it’s less piña colada, more artificial butter. I know, I know, the clue’s in the name. But it strong. I left it open – to ‘air’ – and could smell it in another room

I nearly threw it in the bin there and then. But so pleased I didn’t. The smell has significantly reduced over time. And the quality of this bronzer is so fantastic that it’s gone straight to the top spot. My new fave.
