Honestly, day to day it’s not so much a makeup bag as an entire makeup drawer. But for holidays, a bag it is. And I’m off. Goodbye London, hello NYC. And in the course of packing, things have been condensed.
The holiday makeup bag is an interesting one. Really, it forces you to pick your current faves. Looking at the edit, I have reviewed virtually everything here, so will link to the appropriate posts. Here’s what made the cut.
The contents of the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette Seductive Beauty (above, review here) may not be my holy grails individually, but it sure is handy to have so many face products in one little palette. And it all works together and blends like a dream.
At the opposite end of the price spectrum is a palette from Makeup Obsession. Cream contour and highlight and the two matte eyeshadows are longtime loves, but the shimmer shadow and brow duo are brand spanking new. New but so good that they’ve made it in. Full info on shades in this Makeup Obsession Haul post.
We are No7 heavy when it comes to face products. No7 Stay Perfect Foundation (review here), Airbrush Away Translucent Finishing Powder (here) and Cream Blush (here). Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (here). Clarins Instant Concealer (here). Mini version of the Clinique High Impact Mascara (here).
This is the first edit. I will almost certainly chuck a couple of extras into my handbag.
Barry M Lip Liner (here), two Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors (here), Collection Velvet Kiss Moisturising Lip Cream in Caramel (here) and Stila Liquid Lipstick in Beso (here). Plus a Blistex lip balm.
No, it won’t all fit in my little Ralph Lauren makeup bag, so the palettes will travel in my wash bag. Oh yeah, there’s another bag for skincare. Let’s not even mention brushes…
Til next time,
