This stuff is hyped. The holy grail highlighter. But is it any good? Let’s review The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer, £20, and find out…Worth the Hype?
What Is It?
A champagne coloured pressed highlighting powder.
- Formula – soft, finely-milled, buildable. Gives a beautiful glow with no glitter, no shimmer, just sheen. Doesn’t accentuate pores, easy to blend, great wear time.
- Colour – a pale champagne hue, not too warm, not too cool, very flattering on light to medium skin tones.
- Packaging – super slim, neat little compact. Great mirror, cute design. Doesn’t feel high-end, doesn’t feel drugstore, inline with The Balm pricing.
The Less Good
- Well this is a first…no cons to report.
This is a fantastic highlighter. Very subtle when applied with a light hand, but can be built up without looking powdery. Doesn’t settle into fine lines or emphasise dry patches. It’s not a metallic highlight so never gets to blinding levels, just super glowy in the best, most natural way.
I thought it might be too gold, too dark, but it’s very light, suitable for pale skins. Also great on the eyes, in the inner corner or all over the lid as a bright wash.
The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer is currently £13.60 with free delivery at Lookfantastic.
