NEW Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette Review

It’s back! And in stock, on the website. The Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette, £49, that was such a sell out last spring. Still limited edition. And what’s this? Two versions. Slightly different colour options, the choice – Seductive Beauty or Natural Beauty – is yours.

I snapped up the Seductive version, when it made a brief come back in November, so am prep and primed for a full Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette review.

CT powder products are lovely, finely milled, they just have a certain finish, a texture, that marks them out as high end.

You get so many products in one compact palette (a compact compact, if you will). Ideal if you are in a rush – who isn’t of a morning – or looking to travel light.

Soft, blendable, good quality shadows. Nice neutrals, but not really exciting. I’ll use them if I have the palette open, but wouldn’t reach for them otherwise. And the darkest colour has lots of fall out. Annoying.

Good colour, not very pigmented, which I actually like in a bronzer as I prefer to build it up. But it doesn’t last very long. Also annoying.

More pigmented than the bronzer, super soft and easy to blend, the blushers are great.

The highlighter is subtle. Really subtle. I can barely see it. If you have full coverage foundation on then it gives a visible glow, but if you try to build it up it looks a little powdery. And if I’m full coverage, I’m going out. And if I’m out, forget subtle glow, I want my cheekbones to shine, you know? It’s just not enough

Oh dear. As reviews go, it’s hardly glowing is it? But then, neither are my cheekbones. Burn. It’s all just a bit (whisper it now), well, a bit boring.

Don’t get me wrong I actually like this palette very much, but for all the hype that Charlotte Tilbury products get I was expecting more.

Swatches left to right – brighten eyeshadow, enhance eyeshadow, smoke eyeshadow, bronze powder, cheek swish, cheek pop, highlighter powder

But it’s far from a dud. It’s lovely for a quick, polished look. An Instant Look. And the product formula is too good to dismiss as over-priced and over-hyped.

It’s expensive basics that feel like expensive basics. Which might be all you need.

Til next time,
