Empties: Would I Repurchase?

These are the products that I’ve finished up during the last few months. Some of them I loved, others I did not. But which ones did I love enough to repurchase?

SKINCARE

Have already cracked open another bottle of the Alpha H Liquid Gold Rose, cannot be without it. Though it is limited edition and getting harder to find. Would also repurchase the First Aid Facial Radiance Pads. Conversely, The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA was a chore to finish. A most inelegant formula – gloopy, sticky – without any tangible results.

Finished my first bottle of Tan-Luxe Super Glow Serum and ten days later was wondering why my skin looked so dull and pale. You don’t realise quite how good it is until it’s gone.

PRIMER

Really enjoyed the Becca First Light Priming Filter but probably wouldn’t repurchase the full size at full price as there are other products that do the same thing for much less lolly.

FOUNDATION

Have bought the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation several times over the years, but as Bourjois are leaving the UK it might be my last one. If there is anything that you love – the chocolate bronzer, those lovely round pots of blush – get them before they’re gone. Fortunately the Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation is an excellent alternative affordable foundation that has just arrived.

CHEEKS

Have yet to find another product quite like the Benefit Posietint. Love it during the summer months, worn on lips and cheeks over sunscreen with nothing else. Whereas the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light and Contour Wands are total duds. The formulas are fine, but the packaging is a fail, messy and unhygienic – the sponge applicators are very difficult to clean and gave me spots.

POWDER

If No7 discontinued their excellent Airbrush Away Finishing Powder then I would definitely repurchase the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder. They are joint faves, but one is the clear winner on price.

MASCARA

Absolutely obsessed with the Clinique High Impact Mascara. Starts off underwhelming but within a week becomes awesome and then lasts for months. I can go for long stretches without it, then buy a new one and wonder why I ever buy anything else. The L’Oreal Paradise Mascara is probably the best mascara that you can buy on the high street. Will definitely repurchase it when I forget about the Clinique one again.

LIPS

Can’t be without the Clinique Moisture Surge Lip Treatment now. When they run out I even cut open the tubes to squeeze out every last drop. Would have also cut open the By Terry Mini Baume de Rose Crystalline if I had the skills or tools. Both lush.

HAIR

The Bumble & Bumble Does It All Hairspray smells like doom. Avoid at all costs.

Til next time,

Hayley

What would you recommend instead of the Becca purple primer? Mine is running out and I was going to repurchase.

I’m using the Essence Fit & Fresh Primer. It’s £3.50 at Wilko and very similar (it isn’t purple, but is smooth and glowy). 👍

Totally, but you think it’s running out and then lasts for ages! H x
