Have had this perfume, the Zara Emotions Amalfi Sunray, for a few months and though I loved it instantly, the sun and rise in temperature has taken the love to new levels. It is an absolute dreamboat of a summer fragrance, all zingy top notes in a light cologne. Particularly delightful paired with a glass of rosé, or an aperol spritz, sunglasses on, face in the sun. Close your eyes, breathe deeply and you could almost be on holiday in the Italian Riviera.
I’ll level with you, haven’t actually visited the Italian Riviera myself, but Zara describe the scent as designed to evoke ‘So many happy memories of summer, Italian Riviera holidays’ and I am sold. It does smell of holidays, orange trees and salads, sparkly and warm. The nose is Jo Malone CBE, founder of the Jo Malone brand (she sold it to Estée Lauder in 1999). This partnership to create the Zara Emotions line has produced a range of fragrances which all seem very Jo Malone – simple, elegant, light – in feel if not in price. While the price point is lower than both Jo Malone and Jo Loves (the perfumery founded by Malone in 2011) the packaging and bottles feel premium and though I have only tried Amalfi Sunray thus far, it is so lovely that I am desperate to try the others. If you like neroli, orange blossom and citrusy scents it is well worth a look.
Zara Emotions Amalfi Sunray EDP 90ml, £25.99.
Til next time,
