Who isn’t loving the arrival of February, in all its sweet petite glory. January can jog on with its never-ending joyless grey days of self-imposed abstinence. Only twenty nine days until Spring.
TRYING
Lash Alert Mascara, £19, Eyeko.
This mascara is good, you know. Have had it in a drawer for ages but just haven’t fancied it. It must be the packaging, the blue, the squeeze tube. Doesn’t scream mascara goals. However my use up makeup mission is going swimmingly, have reached the end of my mascara stash, so Eyeko it is. The brush is very skinny and curved, but works fantastically well, gets every lash without making a mess. Brilliant for bottom lashes in particular. Gives separation and length, doesn’t smudge or flake, easy to remove. Like it.
BUYING
Hanna Leather Ankle Boots, £36 (were £150), Anthropology.
Despite receiving the ultimate ankle boots for Christmas, was rendered powerless in the face of a bargain. Nearly bought these Anthropology boots at full price back in October, so when they appeared on the website in the sale, with just one pair left, in my size, for a mere £36, it was clear that the leather boot Gods were bestowing unto me a gift.
ADMIRING
Malta White Leather Western Boots, £110, Topshop.
Think we might have established that I do not need any more pairs of boots, but if I did these white Topshop ones would be top of the list.
EATING
Salted Caramel & Chocolate Hot Cross Buns, Marks & Spencer.
Absolutely, unbelievably delicious. I eat them standing up in the kitchen so I don’t have to share them with my children. Can fully recommend topping them with salted butter, and buying bigger jeans.
