Tarte Makeup Favourites

Tarte Cosmetics, a brand not widely available here in the UK, is fast becoming a new favourite. Every product I try is fantastic. We all know about the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer which is as good as you’ve heard and America’s #1 selling concealer. And now a bronzer, blusher and mascara have all blown me away.

My Tarte purchases have mostly been bought in the sale via the brand’s website. They ship worldwide now, though delivery is £6. The Tarte sale has provided me with the amazing Tarte Amazonian Clay Clique Set, the contents of which have all become immediate favourites. It’s sold out – apologies – but the contents are so good and are still available to purchase individually at full size. (Also, the Tarte Hey There Beautiful Color Collection Set is still available and very similar, £21, here.)

I tend not to review mascaras until I’ve used a full size tube in its entirety as they can be a tricky beast, unpredictable and inconsistent. Some are brilliant at first but become lacklustre or dry out really quickly. Others become excellent right at the end, just before they run out. But based on this mini the Tarte Gifted Mascara is exceptional. I shall buy the full size and report back soon.

The Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess – awful name, gorgeous product – is still available in both full and travel size. This is a very clever bronzer. Suitable for a much wider range of skin tones than most bronzers, due to the unique way it builds. On my summer skin tone, I don’t see it after first swipe but the second is the perfect bronze. You can keep going too, things can get very brown very quickly should the mood take you. But it’s still the most undetectable bronzer I have ever used, no matter how much you apply it never gets orange or stripey. I would say it has a slight sheen, not matte exactly but no glitter.

The powder blushers are consistently great, I say this having tried several in a palette and now the stand alone shade Harmony. Pigmented without being splotchy, buildable without looking powdery. Probably my favourite blush formula of any brand.

Have just noticed that the Tarte website has free shipping and 25% off palettes for European customers today only. So expect a proper review on that Gifted Mascara soon. 18 hours to go, shop it here.

Til next time,

Hayley
