The Noel Fielding Edit

I have a new style crush. Not since Sienna Miller and her pirate boots have I followed the style of a celebrity so closely. (I still want the Chloé boots she used to wear. You can still buy them. If you have £850.)

There was of course a lengthy Carrie Bradshaw phase, during which many Bradshaw-inspired purchases were made. Some that I still own (fake Malonos from Dune) others (fur coats from Spitalfields market) that I do not. But it’s not an easy look, the SATC glam. There isn’t a lot of room for tulle and clutch bags in my current life. Need something more achievable, relatable, not to mention comfortable. Which brings me to my new crush. Cool, art student meets meets 90s boho with a pinch of hipster, chic as hell.

It’s Noel. Noel Fielding. Did you see him on Christmas Bake Off in that pink and leopard jumper? I want to be him. His uniform – skinny jeans, statement boots, jazzy jumper – is one I can get onboard with wholeheartedly. Those gold boots. The bonkers knits. Very good. Comfy too. Suitable for a great many events, the school run, Sunday lunch, a night in the pub. And for a night out, may I refer you to Noel’s summer uniform – skinny jeans, statement boots, jazzy shirt. Ideal. So here, my Noel Fielding Edit, a collection of items inspired by the man himself. Things I think he’d like, things he has actually worn, things I might like to wear in order to look a bit more like him.

1. Lazy Oaf G.E.M. Colour Block Leopard Jumper, £115.

Call me Columbo, I only went and found his exact jumper didn’t I, the one mentioned above, that he wore on GBBO Christmas edition. It’s from London born streetwear brand Lazy Oaf. Noel is evidently a fan of the label: he wore many of their shirts in the tent last summer.

2. Bella Freud Psychoanalysis Jumper, £186 (was £310).

3. Bella Freud Hot Lips Mohair Jumper, £140 (was £350).

Noel loves a bit of Bella Freud. Have spotted him in many a Bella Freud jumper, he has quite the collection, including the Psychoanalysis Jumper, currently £186 in the sale. Could totally see him (and me) in this though, the Mohair Lips Jumper, also in the Bella Freud sale.

4) Topshop Jamie Jeans, £40.

Skinny jeans are another Noel staple. He favours a black or a mid blue wash. My favourite skinnies are the Topshop Jamie Jeans which come in every wash you could ever want.

5) Anthropology Metallic Glitter Leather Boots, £75 (were £150).

Gold boots. Need I say more? These Anthropology gold boots would score you major Noel-points and make you look like an absolute wizard.
