Went to the States, did a little shopping. They don’t have testers in US drugstores, so you have to choose based on packaging. Which results in some surprises! Haven’t used any of it yet, but have unboxed it. Here’s the swag.
The e.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzer Powder in St. Lucia, $4, is so beautiful. The packaging feels luxe, very Nars, a soft touch matte black compact with snap closure and mirror. The colour selection is gorgeous, but it looks rather different to the image on the box. And is a little glittery. Hmm.
How great does this look? Haven’t seen a single review of the e.l.f. Under Eye Concealer and Highlighter, $3, but it looks very interesting indeed. Contains Vitamins C and E, green tea and caffeine to soothe and tighten. Keen.
I picked up the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer, $14.95, as it has great reviews. And a quality affordable bronzer is such a find. But it smells awful. I’m not sure I can bear it. A fake butter smell, like gross popcorn. I guess the clue is in the name. Sob.
Excited to try this one. Milani Conceal and Perfect Foundation in 01 Creamy Vanilla, $10, a full coverage option from the drugstore. There are tons of excellent light and medium coverage foundations to be found on the highstreet, but fewer good high coverage ones.
I wasn’t sure I’d be able to find a shade light enough, but the colour match looks good, light and neutral. Will it oxidise? Or look cakey or flat?
