In Search of: Perfect Brows

Had high hopes for this one. The NYX Micro Brow Pencil, £8. Looks great. A total dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, $21. I mean, not that I’ve ever tried the Brow Wiz but, you know. Sames.

Struggled with colour choice. It was between Taupe and Ash Brown, all the others looked too warm or too dark. Warm brow colours make me look a bit mad. Blonde hair, red eyebrows please, said no one ever.

Plumped for Taupe – best to go lighter and build it up. Under the strip lighting in the shop it looked good. The brow crayon is the retractable kind. Twist up. Tiny. Precise. And it has a spoolie on the other end. I love that. Everything you need in one slim little pencil.

Except that it is a little warm. Get it home, away from the fluorescent lights and onto your brows and yeah, got me some red tinged eyebrows up in here. Not disastrous. Just the exact same shade as the Soap & Glory eyebrow pencil I already own. Brush it through and it looks broadly fine. But I’m not really looking for fine. I’m in search of perfect brows. And the perfect brow product.

This ain’t it. Though it is perfectly lovely, colour selection aside. The search continues.

Til next time,

Hayley
