Save or Splurge: Leather Backpacks

My search for a leather backpack was a total success, love it, use it everyday. But I still got my eyes peeled. I think it’s just one of those items that I’ll always be hunting, like the perfect white t-shirt, black trainers, sunglasses.

The OG leather backpack was the Jigsaw Blake, £179. That’s the one that started it all. Really I wanted the grey, but knew deep down that the black was the practical way to go.

When I saw this one in New Look, it gave me major Blake vibes. Not a total dupe by any means, but you know what I’m saying, pretty darn close. The New Look backpack comes in two colour ways, like the original Blake, black and grey. But it’s £19.99. You heard me.

Sure, it’s not leather, obvs. But the material feels good, the right texture, not plasticky. It’s the right size, nice shape, adjustable straps. Worth a look.

If you’re still in the market for a real leather option, check out this cute little guy. Spotted him in Topshop, leather, chunky silver hardware, compact. Yours for £45.

The Whistles Verity Backpack is the firm fash pack choice, instaworthy, an OOTD regular (outfit-of-the-day, don’t worry, it took me a while). If you’ve been sorely tempted but have yet to stump up the £280, lean in pals, it’s currently 25% off. It’s also had a revamp, available in this fabulously impractical blush suede. If you don’t have a toddler who makes smudges, please, buy the Whistles Suede Verity Backpack, currently £210, and enjoy it on my behalf.

I might grab the New Look version and live out my pale grey backpack dreams, at a smudge accommodating price.

Til next time,

Hayley
