New Skincare Brand: The Ordinary

If you haven’t heard about new skincare brand The Ordinary, let me fill you in. It’s from skincare pros Deciem, the team behind the new skincare line from The White Company.

The White Company Skincare

And holy moly is The Ordinary getting buzz. Here’s why. Certain skincare ingredients have been clinically proven as effective. Not your fads, we’re not talking snail secretion or bee venom here. But your Retinol, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C.

The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2%

Deciem say these ingredients, though effective, aren’t actually expensive to produce. That we pay big brands the big bucks for marketing. Not fancy formulations. But the name on the pretty packaging.

The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors + HA

So The Ordinary is different. It provides quality ingredients at bargain prices. Or ‘clinical formulations with integrity’ as they spin it.

But they don’t make it easy. The product names are just ingredients lists. Advanced Retinoid 2%. Lactic Acid 10% + HA. Skincare geeks only. Novices need not apply.

I know, I know. Deciem have pulled the greatest marketing coup of all time with The Ordinary. The irony isn’t lost on me. But whateves, I am keen. You can hard sell me an effective £8 Retinol serum any day.

But is it effective? Only time will tell. I’m testing a bunch and waiting for results. Reviews will be forthcoming.

In the meantime, check out the cool, chemistry set vibes of the packaging. Love. Normally a pump dispenser is my fave, but here the dropper style feels right. A pipette. Pass the Petri dish and Bunsen burner! I’m conducting a science project on me face.

The Ordinary skincare range starts at £3.90 and is available from Victoria Health, here

Til next time,

Hayley
