A £3 contour cream I wear more than Soleil Tan de Chanel. A £2 eyeshadow that rivals Charlotte Tilbury. A £3 strobe balm I choose over Benefit Watts Up.
I own all of these and they’re all from one brand. A brand so good yet I hear nothing about. It needs some noise.
Makeup Obsession. I’ve blogged about it before (full lowdown here), and have since become a mega fan. Let’s talk top picks!
EYESHADOW – £2 each
E132 Pearl is a great base colour. Lots of colour pigment, it cancels out redness and veins on the eyelid, the perfect prep for your eye look.
E131 Mood is the perfect transition shade. Pop it in the crease for a warm toned look, and everything else will blend smoothly.
E101 Burnt is a super matte red. Pigmented, no fall out, blends like a dream.
E109 Champagne is a standout among the shimmers. Don’t be fooled by its boring appearance, it is a gorgeous shade, finely milled, incredibly similar to the Brighten shade in the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette – Seductive Beauty.BLUSHER – £3 each
All the blushers are good. Try B106 Fancy for a lovely matte coral pink.
CONTOUR – £3 each
Powder and cream, all labelled as contour though you can find both contouring and bronzing shades in the mix.
C102 Contour Powder Light is lovely, neutral in tone, it works as contour or bronzer in the same way that Benefit Hoola Bronzer does.
The contour creams are fantastic. Great shades, great formula, creamy not greasy and blend to a natural-looking finish without disrupting your base.
C107 Light is a cool toned shade perfect for contouring even the palest of skins, while C108 Light/Medium is a warmer shade used to bronze.
Soleil Tan de Chanel cream bronzer has been usurped by this £3 fave. My bank account doth rejoice.
HIGHLIGHTER -£3 each
The best powder highlight is actually the eyeshadow in E109 Champagne. Yep, Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow dupe and awesome highlighter. For £2.
H106 Gold is another multi-use marvel. Lovely as a highlight on darker skins, lovely as an eyeshadow on all.
Saving quite possibly the best til last, S103 Precious is a cream highlight with a blue hue. Best blended into cheekbones with a duo fibre stippling brush. It gives a gleaming glow with no glitter.
Til next time,
Hayley
