Some foundations are high maintenance. No judgement here pals, takes one to know one. Doesn’t mean they’re write offs. There are several high maintenance foundations that I love, use, repurchase. But they need work. A certain moisturiser underneath. The right brush. Setting with powder.
And then there’s this one. No7 Stay Perfect Foundation, £14.50. This foundation is so easy to use. Super low maintenance. No matter how you apply it, it looks great. You could throw it at your face, from a distance, and still look polished.
Suitable for all skin types, light-medium coverage, but layers well so can be built to medium-full. Gives a natural finish, not matte, not dewy.
It mixes with other products beautifully. So for sheer coverage mix in a bit of moisturiser, or apply with a wet makeup sponge. More glowy? Add in a little liquid highlighter, or luminous primer, such as the L’Oreal Lumi Magique Primer, £9.99.
Colour range is good too, 17 shades but doesn’t run that light. Calico is the lightest and is warm in tone. From there, shades alternate between cool toned (pink based) and warm toned (yellow based).
Doesn’t transfer, doesn’t highlight dry patches. Great wear time. Might be my favourite foundation of all time. And not just for the price.
For any price.
Til next time,
Hayley
