The H Edit: What I’m Loving This Week

Last week we went to Centreparcs and it was brilliant. I wore the same pair of jeans all week and barely a scrap of makeup. This week we are back home and something strange has happened. I’ve been out, at night, twice. Party. Animal.

BUYING

I bought jeans, new ones, blue ones, bleached and ripped and high on the waist. They are the Topshop Bleach Ripped Hem Mom Jeans, £40. 100% cotton, so proper denim, zero elastane, hopefully won’t go baggy at the knees. Wore them on both nights out: so far so good.

WEARING

Am having a moment with embellished shoes. Loving the contrast, casual distressed denim (see above) paired with an OTT princess shoe. My new favourite outfit is a plain black tee or jumper, mom jeans, jazzy shoe. Not the warmest, I grant you, it’s more of an indoor outfit. Actually, considering how low my tolerance is for wearing high heels, it’s more of an indoor-sitting-down outfit. Practical.

My embellished shoes are old, they are in fact my wedding shoes from brand Rachel Simpson. They don’t make the same style anymore, but look at this selection from their current collection. Pretty.

REVISITING

This is a nice little product, the NYX Dark Circle Concealer, £7.50, not sure why I ever stopped using it. Being a dedicated corrector it is, as you might expect, very peach in colour, several shades darker than my skin tone but ever so effective at concealing dark under eye circles. I use it first, on bare skin, then apply foundation over the top which works to neutralise the orange hue with all but the lightest coverage foundations.

My other rediscovery this week has been the Chanel Tan de Soleil Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base, £40. In my mind I feel I need to be tanned to use this cream bronzer from Chanel. And it is a very warm shade (the product comes in just one colour). However, have revisited it despite being truly ghostly of complexion and am absolutely loving it again. It’s the texture, the cream to powder finish. Very nice indeed.
