Current Obsession: Activewear

If you need a motivation boost when it comes to working out, I can fully recommend upgrading your workout wear. Makes the colder mornings a little more bearable. When your PE kit looks this good you could even wear it for the school run whether you plan to work out or not. What, me? Swerve the gym and head straight to coffee? Never.

I’m having a moment with activewear. Just want it all. At the affordable end is H&M. H&M sportswear is a pleasant surprise, the leggings in particular. Supportive, flattering and a great choice of styles. I have the Yoga Tights in Black/Pink Patterned, £19.99, but look how nice the Sports Tights, £24.99, are? Their full length leggings are quite long so best for tall girls (my height, 5′ 6″ plus I would say).

A more luxe option are the Acai Activewear Berry Compression Leggings, currently £54* (from £74) at UK Lingerie. My current faves, great quality, thick and smooth. If you haven’t worn patterned gym leggings before try these – super flattering. I pair them with the Lole Activewear Hunter Hoodie and feel very chic when drinking my, ahem, doing my press ups. And the matching Acai Sports Bra, £35 (was £45) is possibly the best looking sports bra I have ever seen. If only I had the matching abs.

How do the Açai bits wash? Can you tumble dry them? I love the look of all of them x

You can’t tumble dry them – you shouldn’t tumble dry anything with elastase in it (including skinny jeans!) – and the label says not to use fabric softener. So I checked and all my activewear says that! Who knew? H x

I never knew that?! You’ve just changed my washing habits 🤣

I like the Acai leggings but the matching sports bra has a few too many straps! I wonder if its still as a supportive or if its more for yoga?

    • October 11, 2018 / 2:57 pm

I love the straps, the sports bras I’m wearing atm are really ugly nursing ones, not the dream! H x

I hear you H, new sports stuff is a game changer for the motivation!
Liking the pattern and styling to the acai set- all about the thicker legging in compression fit, and have been in the market for a hoodie of this ilk for a while now- somewhere between sporty but not too sporty!!
Thanks love, you may just have sparked a new flurry of gym activity!!

The Lole Hoodie is so nice – it’s actually really thin, like a long sleeve tee with a hood, but it’s sweat wicking properties are 👌

Not being a current owner of sports wear, with Christmas approaching and having a very unused treadmill in the garage I think I might actually buy some and get out on my treadmill (or go for a coffee!) xxx

Thanks H, some motivation very much needed at the mo! I really like the look of the H&M range, will definitely give them a try (love the muted pink designs).

So much here that makes me want get very spendy. Would you recommend the Acai sorts bra for bigger boobs? I struggle to find a sports bra that does what it claims to do for an E cup. Thoughts?

    • October 12, 2018 / 9:55 pm

I haven’t got the Acai sports bra, just the leggings. I really want it but am currently wearing nursing sports bras, the glamour. It doesn’t look hugely supportive does it? Probably be ok for yoga, less so for jumping jacks! H x
