I have a new blush crush. It was a spontaneous purchase, an impulse buy. Hadn’t seen it on Instagtam or read any reviews, just saw it in the queue and before I knew what was happening it was sat atop a pile of jumpers at the till.
Largely, it was the packaging that drew me in. How pretty is this blusher? Bravo H&M. I mean it’s light and plastic, it doesn’t feel luxe, yet there is something so pleasing about it, the shape and the smoothness. Like that Chanel hand cream that looks like a pebble. Don’t even use hand cream, still want it.
It is a thing of beauty, a tiny treasure, like a mini Polly Pocket. I could quite happily just hold it in my hand and enjoy it still. But in super news, the blusher inside is lovely too. Quite the opposite of what I was expecting, delicate, muted, refined. I was expecting a heap of pigment that requires intensive blending to avoid an Aunt Sally situation, but nothing of the sort. You actually have to build it up.
I have the shade Golden Peach which is a peachy-coral with a gold reflect, very NARS Orgasm, but there is no glitter when applied to the cheeks. Just a pretty flush. And they have so many shades. I shall have to try one more, just to check it’s not a fluke. I wonder what other makeup H&M do? Is it all in beautiful hexagonal pebbles? Know what I’m doing this weekend.
