Hydraluron. What a name. It’s a serum by the way, in case the name and packaging threw you off. A serum in a tube. Or as the tiny writing on the tube describes it, a facial moisture boosting serum containing one of the purest forms of hyaluronic acid. Here, have a close up.
Hyaluronic acid is a humectant, a substance that retains water. Good for hydration. Hydraluron is a gel serum that you use after cleansing, before (a water-based) moisturiser. And if you have dry or dehydrated skin, you need it. Because it is the most effective thing I’ve used for hydrating my face. Better than thick night creams. Better than serums twice the price.
It’s similar to the Clinique Moisture Surge Concentrate, but much more effective. So effective in fact, that I no longer use it every day. I started with it morning and night, but saw such an improvement that I now save it for when my face feels particularly parched or weather-beaten.
Though it’s done wonders for my winter skin I predict it’ll still be a firm favourite come summer. After days on the beach or nights on the gin. I actually think it would work wonders for all skin types, particularly if you’ve partied, travelled, eaten too much sugar, been ill. Lived basically.
It is a little on the sticky side. That’s my only niggle. I need to apply a moisturiser on top for it to be comfortable. But otherwise it is an absolute gem. And frequently on offer, 1/3 off in Boots, which makes it particularly bargainous too.
