Surprised at how much I love this. Quite unexpected. Was in the market for a new neutral lipstick. Something flattering, discreet, easy. Definitely not shiny, but not matte either. Just a nice cream finish that feels moisturising and fades evenly, in a your-lips-but-better type shade.
Was actually headed to Nars. Thought a Nars Audacious Lipstick might be the thing. But a friend gave me a voucher, for a free No7 lippie, so I made a detour.
The shade range at No7 isn’t great. It’s no Nars. It’s no Rimmel. What it is, is a sea of rose. Rosey reds, rosey pinks, rosey neutrals. No peachy corals or super pale nudes. Nothing that looked very interesting.
But I picked up this one, the No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick in the shade Honey Bloom. And it is my new favourite lip product. The formula is just so good, firm but creamy, wears well, extremely flattering on dry patches. No shine. No slip.
Yes, it’s a pink toned nude. But such a pretty one. Plus, it is an excellent base for other, harder to wear lipsticks. For a lighter, 60s style nude I put Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick in Kim KW on top – a lipstick I find too dry to wear alone.
If they had a more inspiring shade range I’d be all over this line. Until then, it’ll be my first stop for pink.
