ColourPop Hits & Misses

ColourPop Supershock Highlighter in Flexitarian, $8.

Looks sensational when you first apply it, smooth, beaming, lovely undertone. Unique formula, applies like a cream but dries to a powder finish. Can look a little chunky. Best applied with fingers. Very short wear time, doesn’t last more than two hours. Turns into a glittery mess as it fades.

VERDICT: Hit. (I shouldn’t like it, too many issues. But I do! The heart wants what it wants.)

Lippie Stix in Birdy, $5.50.

Gorgeous creamy texture that is flattering even on dry lips. Opaque, easy to wear colour in a pretty pale pinky peach shade. Want. Every. Colour. Love the skinny packaging too.

ColourPop No Filter Concealer in Fair 5, $6.

Great colour, leans slightly yellow, has fantastic brightening effect on the under eyes. Light to medium coverage. Very drying. Settles into fine lines and exaggerates texture. If you are in your teens or 20s and have normal to oily skin, go for it. If not, avoid.

Similar but better: Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer, £4.

ColourPop Supernova Shadow in Walk Of Fame, $7.

Colour is wishy washy. Layering it creates a chunky, flaky mess. Works OK as an eyeshadow base. Curious about other shades, suspect they might be better.

Similar but better: Essence Metal Shock Eyeshadows, £3.50

The Lippie Stix are a hit for me too! I have one highlighter in Over the Moon and it was in my disappointments for last year, I agree with you on all it’s bad points but that one is also just crappy on the pigmentation front too.
Supernova Shadows are a total dud, I think partially down to the wand they don’t pick up product nicely and do go patchy, it’s too rigid and they need something softer and more similar to Stila’s flexible spongier paddle.
I had huge oxidisation issues with that concealer I’m finishing it up but won’t be rebuying – I’m oily and don’t find it great on my skin either, it breaks down.

Such a mixed bag! That’s good to know on the Supernova Shadows, I shan’t bother trying other shades. The applicator is rubbish and I didn’t have any success applying it with fingers either. H x

It’s moderately better with a brush but not enough to be worth the effort, I have 5 shades and they’re all pretty crappy!

I love the lippie stix, but I have a few of the highlighters, and they are so glittery. The supershock eye shadows are amazing, but I am not a fan of the highlighters.

Normally I hate glittery highlighters, but there is something about this one that I love! I think it’s because it looks so nice (and non glittery) on application. Then I just avoid looking at myself for the rest of the day 😂 Putting some supershock shadows through their paces at the moment 👍 H x
