Save or Splurge: Glycolic Acid Toner

Pixi Glow Tonic Dupe

Exfoliating toners are having a moment. The Ordinary have launched one. The new Glossier version is also a hit. Had only just got round to trying the classic of the genre that is the Pixi Glow Tonic, when this released.

There’s a new glycolic acid toner on the block. From Superdrug. The Pixi one isn’t extravagant by any means, at a very reasonable £10 per 100ml. But the Superdrug one is a little over half that price.

Pixi Glow Tonic Review

Not only is it affordable but it’s also effective. Incredibly similar to the Pixi version, and not by chance I am sure. Both contain 5% glycolic acid. They feel very similar on application, fresh and soothing. Same colour lid and label. And having used the Superdrug version for three weeks I can report very similar results.

Superdrug Glycolic Tonic Review

Exfoliated, smooth, glowy skin is the name of the game. And the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Tonic delivers. Possibly a tiny bit less effective than the Pixi, but that could be my winter skin. It also feels a touch drier than the Pixi blend. But this really is nitpicking. It is a fantastic product. Not saying never again to the Pixi Glow Tonic, but will definitely repurchase the Superdrug one. Vote save.

Pixi Glow Tonic, £10 for 100ml, here, or £18 for 250ml here. Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Tonic, £5.99 for 100ml (and currently on our offer at £2.95), here.

Original Pixi Glow Tonic review here.

EDIT: Since I wrote this post I’ve had issues the Superdrug one and no longer use it – full update here.

Til next time,

Hayley

I’m so glad you like it, I always worry when someone buys something I’ve recommended haha but I’m pleased you like it too. It’s great for the price isn’t it? Xxx
