Forget the Rooster. 2017 was the year of the Eyebrow. Had never given my brows so much thought. And once you start looking you see all sorts. Asymmetry. Gaps. Greys. But here in 2018, I have big news. Am happy with my brows.
Have tried many, many products in the quest for good brows. Was never aiming for twins. Just more like sisters, not second cousins once removed. Pencils, powders, wax, pomade. Sculpting brow gels with tiny fibres in them. Felt-tip pen style brow markers.
And the solution? The best way to even them up a bit, without looking completely mad? Keep it simple. A little brow powder, followed with a clear brow gel.
Though not all brow gels are the same. Some leave a white residue, or flake as they wear. Others fail at providing hold or provide too much, drying rock hard and spiky.
The NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel, £6, is my favourite to date. Sure, it’s essentially clear mascara. It doesn’t fluff up brows and add volume like the Glossier Boy Brow. Nor colour and definition like the Benefit Gimme Brow. But it does the job. Simple, easy, foolproof. Brushes and separates brow hair with just enough hold.
Til next time,
