Clinique City Block Sheer SPF 25

Your nose is burnt. Trust me. Put down the gin and swaps seats. Sit in the shade. I know, my moisturiser has SPF in it too. It’s not enough. I say this as a friend, with an equally red nose.

It takes me by surprise every year. Springtime. The sun is shining. We have a legs out situation. Lovely though the weather is, I’m just not ready. Haven’t prepped. A whole host of maintenance is required.

I need to exfoliate. Get the summer frocks out the loft. Fake tan my ghost legs. We have a pedicure emergency

But first things first. Sunscreen. If you dread putting traditional suncream on your face then a decent facial sunscreen is a must.

Lots of lovely skincare brands make them now so you can avoid the white, sticky, greasy suncream look, plus the breakouts it can cause.

My favourite is the Clinique City Block Sheer SPF 25, £18. Tinted, dries down to a slight sheen and makeup applies nicely on top. In fact, I swear it does something good to pores too. Perfect for normal to dry skin types. Also available in SPF 40.

If I had oily skin, La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Anti-Shine Dry Touch SPF 50+, £16.50, would be my sunscreen of choice. Super lightweight, it dries to such a nice velvety matte finish that I nearly bought it anyway. And still might.

Til next time,

I need to try this , especially since it’s tinted and would give a tiny bit of coverage on the days you don’t want to wear makeup.

It doesn’t so much give coverage as blur pores etc. But I feel much better wearing just this than no base at all! H x

Ooooooo exciting! Need to try this, it looks lush and I’ve literally just broke out by using normal sun cream 👀😂
