Clarins Instant Concealer Review

It look me a long time to love this concealer. I probably have unrealistic concealer expectations. Always looking for better, the holy grail, the one that does it all. Completely eradicates dark circles, brightens, doesn’t settle into lines or crease. The search continues.

Clarins Instant Concealer in shade 01

I bought the Clarins Instant Concealer, £22, because Sali Hughes and Pixiwoo like it. Gals with good concealer game. But I found it wanting. It has decent coverage, good colour pigmentation, great texture. Nice enough, but overall a bit underwhelming

So it was left, set aside for several months. Until recently when I tried it again and found a new love for it. It doesn’t do a great job of concealing very dark circles. I use a salmon coloured corrector under the eyes for that. Then the Clarins, in a shade slightly lighter than my skin, over the top.

What it does do brilliantly is brighten. It is the perfect highlighting concealer. Just the right finish, slightly dewy. Doesn’t settle into fine lines or crease, though I do set it with powder.

Very similar to the excellent Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, £5.99, just slightly thicker, a touch more coverage. Like the Maybelline, it isn’t the right product for covering blemishes. But to add light it is lovely

So I like it. Probably won’t repurchase because, you know, searching. But it’s a very good concealer that, if you have dry or dull undereyes, I think you might love.

Til next time,

Hayley

I too have just discovered that it’s ok , and that maybe , maybe my expectations were way too high!!!
Im mad to try the tarte shape tape but have a sneaking suspicion that I’ve blown it up Beyond all realistic expectations!!!
